Watch on. Hieronymus Bosh is the invented name of Jheronimus van Aken, a Dutch painter born in 1450. He lived in s-Hertogenbosch, a flourishing and progressive Dutch town. We know little of his family life or personality, but he was definitely a product of his time. The late 1400s were a time of continuous conflict and change in Europe.

The Haywain Triptych is a panel painting by Hieronymus Bosch, currently housed in the Museo del Prado, Madrid, Spain. A date of around 1516 has been established by means of dendrochronological research. The central panel, signed "Jheronimus Bosch", measures 135 by 200 centimeters and the wings measure 147 x 66 cm.
